Research and testing materials
Classifies information related to the newborn screening program as confidential. Permits disclosure as authorized by law or regulation. Identifies three circumstances in which such disclosure may occur (e.g., to the tested individual, their parent’s or guardians, or health providers for care or treatment purposes or for research purposes). Requires the screening program to maintain program information in a manner that protects patient privacy. Permits the program to destroy the information 18 years following its creation or before that date with prior approval.
