Requirement of genetic testing
Prohibits Medicare supplement carriers from requiring genetic testing, but permits carriers to request testing for research purposes in accordance with federal regulations. Requires carriers to notify individuals that the test is voluntary and will not impact their premium rates. Carriers must notify the Secretary of Health and Human Services of their intention to conduct genetic testing. Prohibits carriers from using collected genetic information for determining enrollment status or setting premium rates.
