Every person admitted to a licensed general hospital in New Jersey has the right to access all records pertaining to his or her treatment, and has the right to receive a copy of such records at a reasonable cost upon request. Such access may only be denied if the patient's physician states in writing that access by the patient is medically inadvisable.
