Medical Records
Requires psychiatric hospitals to maintain medical records and specifies the content of these records (e.g., identifying information, diagnosis, treatment plan, etc.). Prohibits disclosure of medical records unless disclosure occurs in specified circumstances (e.g., pursuant to the patient or guardian’s written consent, for treatment purposes, during a commitment proceeding, etc.). Requires hospitals to maintain records in accordance with policies established by the Wyoming Archives and Historical Department and the hospital’s administrator.
