Medical, osteopathic, and podiatry boards; disclosure of information to public

The Medical Board of California can release the following information about a licensed physician to the public, upon request:

  1. Issuance of a temporary restraining order;
  2. Suspension orders;
  3. Revocations or suspensions of license;
  4. Public letters of reprimand;
  5. Infractions, citations or fines imposed;
  6. Civil judgments in any amount;
  7. All settlements in the low-risk category if a physician has had three or more settlements in the last ten years, subject to several stipulations.  The Board may not disclose the actual settlement amount.
  8. Approved postgraduate training;
  9. Status of license;
  10. Summaries of disciplinary actions where the physician’s privileges have been terminated or revoked;
  11. Information about felony convictions.
