Kan. Stat. Ann. § 65-6002, Reporting to secretary of health and environment information concerning AIDS or HIV infection

Requires physicians to report suspected cases of HIV/AIDS to the Secretary of Health and Environment. Requires physicians and medical facility administrators to report positive HIV/AIDS lab tests to the Secretary within 30 days of performing the test. Specifies the information that must be included in such reports (e.g., name, address, test results, etc.). Requires laboratories to report confirmed HIV cases to the Secretary within 30 days and specifies the information they must include (e.g.,type of testing used, test result, name of provider who ordered the test, etc.). Grants physicians, medical facility administrators, and laboratory directors immunity from any liability that may arise from their reporting. Classifies reported information as confidential, but specifies circumstances in which such information may be disclosed (e.g., with an individual’s written consent, to medical personnel that require the information during a medical emergency, etc.).
