Kan. Stat. Ann. § 65-445, Termination of human pregnancy

Requires medical care facilities to maintain records of abortions performed at the facility and providers to maintain records of abortions they perform if they do so outside of a licensed medical facility. Requires facilities and providers to report abortions to the Secretary of Health and Environment and specifies the information they must include in the reports (e.g., diagnosis that necessitated the abortion). Prohibits reports from including the name of the person receiving the abortion. Classifies reported information as confidential and prohibits disclosure of any information that would identify a reporting facility or medical practitioner. Provides an exception for disclosures to appropriate licensing boards in regard to a disciplinary hearing or to a district attorney in regard to alleged violations of the laws regulating medical facilities and medical practitioners. Permits disclosure of information for statistical purposes so long as it does not identify the locattion in which the abortion occurred. Classifies violations of these requirements as class A nonperson misdemeanors and allows persons harmed by violations to seek civil damages.
