Data for research
Permits the Department of Health to release cancer data for research into the prevention, control, or treatment of cancer. Requires researchers to certify that they are a qualified medical researcher with the appropriate sponsorship (e.g., university, non-profit medical association, etc.), have obtained IRB approval and that they will use the information only for cancer research. Researchers must also certify that they will maintain the confidentiality and security of data, provide the Department with a copy of their research results, and will comply with relevant state and federal laws.
