New Mexico regulations specify that state agencies that administer programs under the Social Security Act or the Food Stamp program maintain the confidentiality of recipients in their benefits.  The information that must remain confidential includes application information and information obtained by employees that is recorded.  However, this does not include information used for statistical purposes or that is not individually identifiable.  All information in the state’s possession may be given to the recipient or his/her representative upon request.
