“Purpose”
The purpose of this section is the prevention, reporting and investigation of patient and resident abuse, neglect, and mistreatment, and the misappropriation of patient and resident property by individuals working in or employed by a facility, home health agency, homemaker agency or hospice program, and for sanctions and penalties which may be imposed on the individuals found to have committed these acts. This section establishes a registry to be maintained by the Department which will contain:the names of individuals who are certified as nurse aides, and sanctions against them.
