All hospitals that provide cardiac surgeries must provide patient specific data to the Data Analysis Center (a center contracted out by the Department of Public Health) for each patient who has had a cardiac surgery as defined by the Department of Public Health. Hospitals that provide cardiac surgeries and the cardiac surgery data are subject to random audits by the Department. Hospitals must reimburse the Data Analysis Center for their share of the Center’s expense.
