OHRP releases a draft guidance document regarding the revised Common Rule.

On Monday, November 19, 2018 the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) released a draft guidance regarding provisions that institutions may choose to implement during the Common Rule’s delay period (July 19, 2018-January 20, 2019). It applies to activities conducted or supported by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and is meant to help determine if these activities are considered to be public health surveillance.It is titled, “Activities Deemed Not to be Research: Public Health Surveillance, 2018 Requirements.” They are accepting public comments on the guidance now through December 19, 2018.
