“Chronic diseases; study; program under the health law”

The State Board of Health is authorized to:

  • Study the prevalence of chronic disease;
  • Conduct morbidity studies to evaluate chronic diseases;
  • Develop an early case-finding program, in cooperation with the medical profession;
  • Develop an educational program on the causes, prevention, and alleviation of chronic disease; and
  • Integrate the program with the state rehabilitation center where possible by seeking the early referral of persons with chronic disease, who are capable of being rehabilitated.
