Requirements and Exceptions for Disclosure of Vital Records or Information - Mo. Rev. Stat. §193.245

The law prohibits any person from disclosing information contained in a vital record or to copy such information.  However, this restriction is subject to certain exceptions, including:

  1. A listing of people who are born or die on a certain day;
  2. Disclosure of information contained in vital records for research purposes;
  3. Pursuant to an application for a copy of a certified record;
  4. Copies of death records over 50 years old.
