Powers and Duties of the Office of Minority Health and State Department of Health – Ind. Code Ann.§ 16-46-11-1

The state of Indiana has an Office of Minority Health within the Department of Health to do the following:

  1. Coordinate and implement the comprehensive health plan developed by the interagency state council on black and minority health;
  2. Develop community based initiatives to address health disparities of minorities;
  3. Monitor progress in minority health;
  4. Fund minority health programs;
  5. Provide technical assistance to local minority health initiatives, including providing measurable health objectives;
  6. Providing minority health research and data;

Coordinate with existing local minority health coalitions.
