The Director of Health must establish a population-based cancer registry, which shall be known as the Ohio cancer incidence surveillance system, to monitor the incidence of various types of malignant diseases in Ohio.  The system will be used to make appropriate epidemiological studies to determine causal relations between such diseases and occupational, nutritional, environmental, or infectious conditions, and to alleviate and eliminate such conditions.   The Ohio cancer incidence surveillance system will follow a model of cancer data collection as set forth by the survey epidemiology and end results system (SEERS).
