Creation; purpose

The law establishes the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange in the state of Nevada.  Its purpose is to:

  • Facilitate the sale and purchase of qualified health plans in Nevada;
  • Assisting qualified small employers to facilitate enrollment in the Exchange and provide small business subsidies;
  • Reduce the number of uninsured individuals in the state;
  • Provide a transparent marketplace for health insurance and consumer education;
  • Assist residents of the state with access to public programs, cost sharing reductions and premium assistance tax credits.
