Grants the State Board of Health authority to require disease reporting. Specifies the information that such reports must include (e.g., name, diagnosis, etc.). Permits public health officials to review medical records without a patient’s consent while investigating a reported disease. Classifies reports and records generated from disease investigations as confidential and prohibits disclosure. Specifies exceptions to this prohibition on disclosure (e.g., disclosure to the person about whom a record pertains, disclosures that are necessary for public health purposes, etc.).
