Under the Medicaid False Claims Act, a person may not knowingly make a false statement or false representation of material fact in an application for Medicaid benefits or in determining Medicaid benefits.  A person who violates this section is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for a maximum of 4 years or a $50,000 fine, or both.
