“Report of diseases of the eyes of infants”
 
In order to prevent blindness, the nurse, relative or other attendant of an infant that shows an unnatural discharge within two weeks after birth or where either eye becomes inflamed, swollen and red, must report it to the board of health of the town where the infant is.  The board must then take immediate action and consult with an oculist. Whoever violates this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars.
