Patients have the right, at the time of discharge, to receive an itemized bill upon request. The request may be made by the patient or patient’s guardian at any time within 7 years following discharge. The hospital must provide an itemized bill to the patient within 30 days of the request. Each bill must display the cost of nursing services provided to the patient.
