Hospital Records, N.D. Cent. Code § 23-01-12

Hospital records to be kept at the direction of state health officer. 
 
Requires hospitals to maintain records of persons admitted for the treatment of a disease or persons committed to the hospital via legal process. Authorizes the state health officer to direct hospitals on the form of records. Specifies that the records must contain information regarding the nature of the disease and the doctor’s opinion on how the patient contracted the disease. Requires hospitals to obtain the information from the patient when possible; otherwise hospitals may obtain the information from persons acquainted with the facts such as friends or relatives.
