Health information; confidentiality; immunity from liability for furnishing – N.M. Stat. Ann. §14-6-1

All health information of a specific individual is confidential, even if the information is retained by government agency, a licensed facility or a state associated entity.  A person that retains the confidential information may release the health information to a government agency, state educational institution, licensed facility, or state/county association of providers without being liable for the release of the information.  Research studies that use confidential health information can be released to the public, but cannot contain any individually identifiable information and cannot violate patient-physician privilege.
