Fraud warning - R.I. Gen. Laws Ann. § 27-29-13.3

Rhode Island requires insurance claim forms and applications to contain a statement similar or identical to the following: "Any person who knowingly presents a false or fraudulent claim for payment of a loss or benefit or knowingly presents false information in an application for insurance is guilty of a crime and may be subject to fines and confinement in prison." This requirement does not apply to forms from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or electronic forms established pursuant to 45 C.F.R. Part 162.
