“Restrictions on use of state and federal funds for state exchanges under the insurance law”

A health insurer may not offer coverage for an abortion if the coverage was purchased in whole or in part with any state or federal funds through an exchange created pursuant to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. However, an abortion may be covered if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest or the pregnancy places the woman in danger of death unless the abortion is performed.
