“Disciplinary actions under the Nurse Practice Act”

Nurses may be denied a license or face disciplinary sanctions for a variety of grounds including:

  • Making a false report or failing to file a report required by state or federal law;
  • Unprofessional conduct;
  • Being unable to practice nursing because of illness or substance use; and
  • Failing to report to the Department of Health any health care professional for violating the law.
