“Medicaid provider agreements under the social welfare law”
Health care providers participating in the Medicaid program must comply with the following requirements:
- Not discriminate based on handicap, race, color, or national origin;
- Maintain medical records for each patient and retain them for 5 years;
- Safeguard the use and disclosure of information pertaining to current or former Medicaid recipients and comply with all state and federal privacy laws; and
- Permit government agencies to access all Medicaid-related information and records
