Florida Administrative Code § 64B8-30.015

“Disciplinary guidelines under the Department of Health regulations”

The Board of Medicine may discipline and fine a physician assistant for a variety of grounds including:

  • Attempting to obtain a license by bribery or fraud;
  • Filing a false report or failing to file a report as required;
  • Failure to report another health care professional who violated the law or board rule;
  • Failure to perform legal obligations;
  • Engaging in sexual misconduct;
  • Failure to keep written medical records;
  • Performing professional services not authorized by a patient;
  • Inappropriate or excessive prescribing; and
  • Inability to practice medicine with skill and safety or engaging in malpractice.
