Definition and Requirements of Telehealth - Mo. Rev. Stat. § 208.670

The Department of Social Services must establish rules relating to the use of telehealth (defined as the exchange of medical information from one site to another through electronic means to improve the health status of the patient) in the MO HealthNet program, the state’s Medicaid program.  The rules must address standards of use, certification of agencies governing telehealth, and payment for services by providers.  All providers who use telehealth services must obtain patient consent before using them and ensure the confidentiality of the information.
