D.C. Code § 24-604 - Public intoxication; confidential records

This statute governs the confidentiality of alcohol detoxification center records. Information may be disclosed with the written consent of the client. Information may be disclosed without the consent of the client to medical personnel for purposes of diagnosis, treatment, or court testimony. The statute likewise allows for disclosure to police for purposes of investigation of criminal offenses and complaints against police action, and to authorized personnel for purposes of pre-sentence reports.
