Consultation Process
Requires the Department of Health to review completed client information packets to determine if the client is eligible for the prescription drug consumer information technical assistance program. Requires the Department to refer client information to a pharmacist. Requires the pharmacist to examine the information to identify any drug interactions, duplicate therapies, and cost saving possibilities, consult with the client, and submit recommendations to the client and their health care providers. Requires pharmacists to provide the Department with a copy of the recommendations and a list of cost savings discovered in their analysis.
